Our Story
It started with one simple heart and
one simple message.
In the Spring of 2020, during a time of uncertainty and isolation, Darrell Harrington painted a wooden heart and placed it in his front yards with two words:
It was a small act with a big message that sparked a neighborhood movement — and grew into a life mission.
Today, Be Kind Ithaca operates as a nonprofit organization that partners with local and national nonprofits, raises funds for many charities and initiatives, and continues to remind the world that kindness changes everything.
